Carrie Prejean Getting Book Deal
Written by ParcLIVE! on July 22, 2009
We all knew it was coming. Rock on Carrie! Carrie Prejean is writing a book.
Publishing house Regnery Publishing announced yesterday that it has signed a deal with Prejean for her first book titled Still Standing.
The 22-year-old former lingerie model will reflect on the gay marriage controversy that eventually left her without a beauty pageant tiara but a superstar of free speech advocates.
“It’s not a book about gay marriage,” Regnery president and publisher Marji Ross told E! News. “It’s not a book about traditional marriage…She wanted to write a book about freedom of speech and the double standard that seems to exist when someone speaks their mind and doesn’t happen to be politically correct or consistent with what a crazy Hollywood celebrity thinks is the right answer.”
And who will be writing it? In an age of ghostwriters, Prejean will pen it herself. “It’s not one of these things where she’s only the face and it’s not her words,” said Ross. “She’s writing it.”
To be released in November with about 100,000 printed, will you be picking up a copy?
Free speech advocates everywhere should be celebrating the new popularity Prejean is bringing the cause and her overall commitment to the cause.
