“Our Man in the Sand”
(Interview by Greg Victor)
And now, our weekly communication with “Maverick.” Maverick is still somewhere out there in Iraq. He hasn’t been online for more than a few minutes the past week. He has been much busier than usual, going on many missions. But I spotted him online tonight, and here is our brief chat:
Greg: Maverick!
Maverick: Hey, whats up?
Greg: You’ve haven’t been online all week. Are you free for a couple minutes (to update our readers)?
Maverick: Not really. We’re getting ready for an ambush… and the time just got pushed up.
Greg: What kind of ambush?
Maverick: We hide off the roads that have trucks driving up and down them, and when they go to put a bomb in – we kill them.
Greg: Have anything in particular on your mind today?
Maverick: Not much lately. I’ve just been really sick… and combined with the heat, I’ve been sucking a little.
Greg: Sorry to hear that, brother. Hang in there, do a good job and take care of business. We’re here hoping it’s all going well for you. We’ll chat soon.
Maverick: Okay, cool. I’ll hit ya up later.
So there it is, readers. Sometimes it’s not the content of the letter, but just the fact you got a letter to let you know everything’s alright… Soldier on, and we’ll update you soon.
