David Horowitz: Former Radical Sets Record Straight

What if someone worked for The Black Panthers, cut their ties, publicly referred them as radical murderers and somehow lived to tell the story?  Well then you would have just one part of the amazing life story of David Horowitz.

Anyone still on the fence about the communist tendencies of the current administration should look at their association and recent loss of their communist czar.  Who knows the communists better than someone who used to work for The Black Panthers?

Now more than ever, it is important to listen to what Horowitz has to say.  He was part of the 1960’s “new left” movement that is now running the show in Washington.  His memoir, Radical Son, is an extremely eye opening account of his years in the left and about the foundations of today’s Democratic Party.

Horowitz recently appeared on Glenn Beck’s show to give his thoughts on the current administration:

“Barack Obama is an ideologue. He comes out of the left that has been trying to get power in this country for half a century, and this is their best chance to do it.”

Horowitz describes President Obama as the “anointed one” to further the agendas of people like radical left wing funder George Soros and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.  After acting like he was going to govern from the center Obama has surrounded himself with some extremely left wing associates.

Horowitz continues:

“When you are a radical, what you are thinking of is power.  You take up this position, you take up this issue but it’s all to advance this power.  They never think about what it’s going to look like or how to put it together.  I can tell you a radical never spends five seconds thinking about what makes a society work.”

Coming from someone who knows the radical left better than anyone, this is scary and is exactly what is going on with our government right now.  They are seizing control of everything they can, while they can.  Their only real concern is furthering an extreme agenda.

The real meat comes when Horowitz discusses the playbook of the left:

“In my view, we should take a page out of Alinsky‘s book, “Rules for Radicals.” And he says, what you do is you go outside the experience of your opponent and you disorient them, and you make them react the way that reveals who they are. The big secret of the left is that it claims to — and it’s, of course, the Democratic Party — to be the champion of poor people, minorities, women, children, when, in fact, it is the oppressor of minorities, women and children.”

This is an extremely important view too many people either miss or have been sheltered from.  Republicans in office are too afraid to point the finger at any problem (except for terrorists).   The Democrats flawlessly painted the right as weak and in the last election they proved them right by sitting back and taking it.  We need to bring in more people who have the spine to stand up to dangerous rhetoric spouted by today’s Democratic majority.

Horowitz lays out a plan:

“I think you start with the inner cities of America. Every major inner city in America — Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Harlem, South Central, the city council in every one of those inner cities, the school board, the school district is 100 percent controlled by the Democratic Party, and Washington, D.C., of course, controlled — 100 percent controlled by the Democratic Party and the social justice crowd, and has been for 100 years.

Everything that’s wrong in the inner cities that policy can affect, Democrats and progressives are responsible for. They have their boot heels on the necks of poor, black and Hispanic children everywhere in America, and the Republican Party lets them get away with it, never says a word about this.

If conservatives will start — will show these people — now, they’re attacking old people. They want old people to die sooner. They don’t want to give them the care that will keep them alive.”

I keep asking myself why more politicians refuse to talk like this.  If the Republicans ever want to get power back and keep it, they need to listen to Horowitz, who is not afraid to call it like he sees it.

Even Horowitz initially gave Obama the benefit of the doubt.  Now, especially with the issues surrounding Van Jones, Horowitz has been speaking out about how dangerously far left the Democrats in power are.

It is another thing when talking heads and political pundits throw accusations around and quite another when it comes from a man like Horowitz.  He knows left wing radicalism better than any of us, take note of his commentary next time you walk into the voting booth.
