Ok seriously, I’ll come out and say it: Miley Cyrus is turning into a ho.
Maybe that’s a little rough but have you seen her new video? If not, it’s below. The girl is 16 and she’s prancing around and shaking her hips like a stripper in training. Watching it, you easily forget that she’s 16 and I myself had to google her age just to double check and make sure. What I was seeing in her video just did not register as “16.”
We’ve all watched Miley rise from little teeny bopper star to the pop machine she’s quickly turning into. But along the way she’s lost her appeal. What was appealing about her before was that she was a good girl and didn’t go “pop stripper” on us like Britney, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and the rest of the typical gang. And her fans reflect that message. Many of her fans are up in arms all over youtube, facebook and the message boards. Miley offered us a view of what decency and a minimal amount of restraint had to offer: good music, millions of fans, and a popular and non controversial public image.
Enter: “Party in the USA”
I love the song, I’m actually kind of obsessed with it. And I completely understand that one of the top marketing rules for pop culture is “sex sells” and I also understand the need for artistic creativity and variation…but just don’t go “there” Miley.
Why become just another slutty pop star when you can be so much more? We’ll all see Miley go through the typical songs and themes that other young pop stars have, “OMG the paparrazzi is everywhere,” “boys boys boys,” “you don’t know the real me or what makes me tick,” and the struggle whether to go slutty or stay respectable.
Stay respectable.

if she keeps pumping out videos like this one she’s definitely in ho territory. sweet song though! but all her other videos are more or less real miley. she does love the camera too.

great point about becoming “just another slutty pop star”. this looks like a terrible career move for miley. way to jump into ‘what everyone else is doing’ and lose your unique spotlight.

It is largely due to people not wanting to see toned down and wholesome entertainment. People feel that is selling out.

whatever women do they can't win … they play the part and the get condemned for being a slut, they tone it down and they are ignored.
