John Edwards – The Train Wreck Continues

Written by Brooke Musterman on February 3, 2010

edwards_hair“I think he’s disgusting. I don’t think the guy has a soul.” These are Sen. Claire McCaskill’s thoughts on Former North Carolina Senator, and Vice Presidential candidate.

We are so proud of our affair-having, impregnating, poop-scooping Senator here in North Carolina. He is leaving quite a legacy.

McCaskill goes on to say, “There’s unpopular, there’s widely loathed, there’s despised, and then there’s John Edwards. Americans are a tolerant people, but they have a line, and evidently when you cheat on your cancer-stricken wife, lie about it to everyone while running for President and then decline to acknowledge fathering a love child for two years, you’ve crossed it. Given the towering stack of strikes against him, can Edwards resume any kind of public life? Short of curing his wife’s cancer, is there anything he could do to get people to at least tolerate him?”

His wife, Elizabeth, the brains behind the beauty [ugh, not really], has finally taken the high road. They are legally separated. Unfortunately, under North Carolina law, they can’t get divorced for a year. But they aren’t living together.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years, you’ve no doubt heard the exploits of the smarmy Senator. First he has an affair, while his wife is dying of cancer, which he denies. He continues to vehemently deny being the father of Francis Quinn Hunter. Then only when evidence exposes his lies, does he come forward.

According to former aid, Andrew Young, who initially claimed fatherhood of the child, to save Edwards from embarrassment, wrote a tell-all book in which Rielle Hunter claimed that Edwards promised that when Elizabeth died, they would wed on a rooftop in New York to the tunes of a live Dave Matthews Band.

And a sex tape to boot!

You know, I actually fault his baby-mama more. She looks like a classy gal who should know better than to be enticed by such a rat bastard. The mere mention of him makes my stomach turn.

You left out the most disciple thing Edwards has done. Edwards made most of his money suing for malpractice claiming the children were suffering from cerebral palsy due to doctors not performing caesarean deliveries. Now all OBY/GYN doctors in surrounding areas perform caesarean sections and guess what? The percentage of children born with cerebral palsy has not declined one bit. But you know what has declined? Woman's healthcare since many doctors have left the area due to malpractice costs and many have chosen to enter other fields of practice. I think it is a shame he was never asked in a debate if he would return the money he won since it all the data post the trials shows caesarean deliveries does not reduce the percent of children born with cerebral palsy.

I fully agree with Adam D. Above. He, and other lying lawyers like him, are the primary problem with this country. They raise the cost of everything, from healthcare costs to consumer goods. It's sad that so many Americans are fooled by him and his cohorts.

First, the guy has proven himself to be a jerk and a liar—he'll never get elected to even a position as dog catcher. That said, what makes Edwards any worse than REPUBLICAN Gov. Sanders? OR, the long list of REPUBLICANS who have cheated on their wives and done other nasty, disgusting stuff. How about the REPUBLICAN guy who got caught trying to have sex with a guy in an airport restroom? Another EXAMPLE: Newt Gingrich—-a possible REPUBLICAN candidate for Prez in 2012? Let's see what that Rat did. He divorced his wife while she was in the hospital fighting cancer, then married his girlfriend! Hum, sounds similar to what Edwards has done. OH, BTW, you don't hear stuff that Rotten Republicans have done on FOX Fake News from the filthy likes of Sean "head-in-fanny" Hannity and the rest of the millionaire propaganda liars FOX hires. My guess is that many "conservatives" spend a lot of time watching FOX—where else do they get their ridiculously one-sided ideas?

As for your attacks on attorneys—-WHAT A CROCK! Are you so stupid that you don't know that a JURY has to decide the evidence AND that a medical expert or experts have to explain what evidence there might be of medical malpractice. We have a small percentage of doctors and nurses in our country who are drug or alcohol / drug-addicted. Don't you know that? If you or someone you know (family member, friends) are victims of medical malpractice by one of these addicts, you'll sing a different tune when it comes to hiring a lawyer to go after them! Here in Ohio, we had a hospital COVERING-UP a surgeon's malpractice after hospital staff and another doctor reported that he was actually taking shots of Demerol while he had open heart surgery patients in the OR! "RICH" says, "He and other lying lawyers like him, are the primary problem with this country." GEE, sounds like a direct quote from FOX's Hannity and his ilk.

THE PRIMARY PROBLEM IN OUR COUNTRY IS POLITICIANS IN BOTH PARTIES WHO HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT ETHICS AND MORALS! Have you (conveniently) forgotten about Nixon and Agnew? Former REPUBLICAN V.P. Agnew was indicted by a Grand Jury for taking bribes while Governor of Maryland. So, he resigned as V.P. and paid a $10,000 fine to avoid jail time. Nixon offered to get $1 million to pay off the Watergate burglars to keep them quiet. He resigned over that to avoid impeachment. Bush & Cheney—-8 years of spending this country into the biggest deficit in U.S. history, LYING our country into a war with Iraq, a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and that did not attack us. Bush & Cheney LIED about the WMD and everything else. OVER 4,000 of our brave SOLDIERS DEAD and thousands badly wounded!

Daddy Bush could have taken Hussein into custody in 1991, but for some strange reason, didn't. BOTTOM LINE: The current Republican Party is NOT conservative and hasn't been for a very long time. It's a party that has been totally taken over by the Corporate Elite and they started viciously attacking the Middle-class as soon as Reagan got into the WH. RESULT: The Middle-class average income has gone down with EVERY REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT and the REPUBLICANS in Congress (a majority from 1994 to 2008) passed laws that allowed the REPUBLICAN bankers, Wall Street crooks, etc., to run our economy into the ground. THINK ENRON during disgusting W.'s first 4 years! Finally, anyone who calls himself / herself "conservative" and supports a nearly brain-dead POL like Sarah Pathetic Palin should hang their heads in shame. Look what she did as soon as she and MsSame lost the election: QUITS as Gov. of Alaska with 2 years to go so she can go off and have a woman write a book and then put Palin's name on it and get a job with, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, FOX FAKE NEWS!!!! REPUBLICAN PARTY = LARRY, CURLY AND MOE!

Bob – you are correct a jury does have to make the decision. But we all know what happens when you get a jury of 12 uneducated people, need I remind you that OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson both got off? Medical history shows that John Edwards medical claims were 100% false. And he has yet to return one penny of the money he made off those trials. There are legitimate malpractice claims, it is a shame that those get diminished by the John Edwards types of the world who make every malpractice case look suspicious.

You must be desperate! What on earth does Sean Hannity have to do with this? As for Larry Craig, all he did was "foot tapping" – and his career is over! Gingrich is going nowhere. But Jesse Jerkson, Al Sharpton, all the phony Democrats who have had affairs and worse . . you defend them. However, I give the award to the Breck Girl. He outslimes slime. And let's not forget Eliot Spitzer, who destroyed AIG. I barely care about his affair with a call girl – he did to her what he did to the State of New York! Now we are really screwed with Dave Paterson in charge. Bob, you have so much to be proud of in the Demo- RAT party. And let's not forget your Lt. Governor candidate in Illinois who had to step down when it was revealed that he had put a knife to his girlfriend's thoat!

Bob, Bob – you need meds! Nixon was a great president compared to your guy, Jimmah Carter – the worst ex president we have ever had although I think Obama is going to earn that title! And stop with the phony "lied to get us into war". If you believe that Bush lied, then you believe that Clinton, Tony Blair, and others lied. You suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome and I seriously doubt that you care about our troops since you a Demon-Rat.

Larry, Curly, and Moe – oh, you mean Keith Olberman, Rachel Madow and Tingle Leg Chris Matthews! That's where you get your news from, Bob. Enough said!
