Ohio TEA Party Chooses Fellow Organizer over GOP RINO

AG.Rally.CallWe all remember what many are calling the TEA Party’s first electoral victory, Scott Brown in Massachusetts.  The seat was practically guaranteed to a Liberal Democrat, and the people spoke up to change the outcome with their voices and their pocket books.

Before that there was Doug Hoffman, an independent who gained national attention, and again a lot of donations after the people woke up.  Why?  The GOP didn’t hold a primary, and picked a RINO of the worst order, one more Liberal then the Democratic offering.

In Ohio the race for Ohio Attorney General Primary was between Mike DeWine (GOP RINO front-runner with money and a familiar name) and Dave Yost (Genuine Conservative and TEA Party favorite).  Yost was asked by Ohio GOP leaders to step aside and run for the State Auditors office when their lead candidate Mary Taylor joined the Gubernatorial ticket with John Kasich,  clearing the way for DeWine and leaving the public no other choice.   This is truly no different than what happened in New York 24 this summer!  And true conservatives State wide were up in arms over this “Backroom Deal” that silenced their voice!

For those of you who do not remember former Congresman Mike DeWine, he was part of the Gang of 14 that Rush Limbaugh practically had a coronary over on a few years back.  The Same DeWine who the NRA gives an “F” rating to for siding with Bill Clinton rather then his own party on radical new gun control legislation in the 90′s.

In Findley OH, Steve Christopher, a TEA party organizer himself, read the sad news the papers with his wife.  Soon the phone began to ring from his friends from all across the state asking him to step into the race.  With only days to file, he answered the call and was met with the daunting task for gathering over 1000 signatures in a week.  When he filed, he did so with over 3000!

Grass roots groups state wide have joined behind him and are gaining ground in the fight against the party machine, and the big money in Columbus to make sure a true conservative is on the November ballot as a Republican.  Just this week Fox 19 News reported on Christopher and a number of other candidates in Ohio that openly signed a pledge to uphold the values of the TEA Party movement.  These groups have stood side by side on a number of party enforcements, however the office of Ohio Attorney General is on where the Republican Party clearly is not in step with the movement, and the movement is pushing back.

People nationwide must learn from this and understand that the two party system is broken. Instead of raising up leaders with the best interest of American citizens at heart, BOTH parties have given in to the age old allure of money, power and corruption. 'We The People' must get up off our lazy behinds and put a stop to this PRONTO! People, it's time to get informed and get involved! Our apathy has cost us plenty already, and soon it may well be too late to turn this ship. Get registered to vote and select candidates who are TRUE CONSTITUTIONALISTS! It's our only hope.

My husband and I are very pleased to see Steve Christopher join in this candidacy race. We agree, its time for Mike DeWine to either reliquish his seat, or be defeated by a true conservative. We are registered Republicans and are supporting and backing Steve Christopher.
Thank you Brian for writing this timely and informative article.

Terry _> While I agree that we the people are responsible to make sure the right people are elected, we must change the current parties from within. Steve Christopher winning the primay will send quite a message to the Republican Party that it's not just a "D" vs. "R" thing, is a "Conservative" vs. "Progressive" thing. Without true conservatives on the ticket, our support will not be there for the party. The Republican party was born out of 2 parties with the same view of things, they too couls suffer the same fait unless they wake up.

Absolutely! Which is why I am personally running for office for the first time in my life. I am running for Republican Central Committee Member of my precinct. Do I want to? No, but the only way to reform these parties if from within. We must begin this reform from the bottom up!

With the momentum of the conservative movement building, it was very exciting earlier this year to see two conservative leaders in the races for Ohio Attorney general (David Yost) and Ohio Auditor (Seth Morgan). As a conservative voter, it was so nerve wracking when David Yost left the AG race, leaving Mike DeWine uncontested. Cincinnati is so thankful that Steve, a true conservative committed to upholding the Constitution, 2nd Amendment rights and State sovereignty, filed for candidacy. Once again, conservative voters are now fired up and ready to WIN with principled leaders for AG and Auditor in Ohio. Thank you Steve!

My husband and I signed a Petition for Steve Christopher after hearing about his conservative views and his love for the Constitution of The United States of America. May God Bless Steve with the courage, and the wisdom to accomplish this awesome task. We are Republicans and we will get the word out for Mr. Christopher.

Excellent article here! Thank God people are realizing "Republican" does not necessarily mean "conservative." Vice-versa for Democrats meaning "liberal." Now, more than ever, we need CONSERVATIVES to lead this country!

  • Chris

The best thing you can do to help Mr. Christopher at this point is to make a donation through his website (http://www.stevechristopher.org). If this contest remains a name recognition race, Mike DeWine will win. But if people are reminded of the issues DeWine voted on, and are informed of the alternative, conservative positions Christopher holds, then he CAN crush DeWine. But it takes money to get that information out there.

So true Chris. Like Brown on Mass and Hoffman in NY Steve is fighting a major up hill battle. Just $20 from 1,000 people could make all the difference. If Sarah Palin's PAC group is watching, feel free to mention us!

These "backroom deals" that benefit the old entrenched guard in the parties have to stop. I am so tired of having the choose the lesser of two evils when voting.

  • Tom Dilts

People in this state and around the country are tired of the back room deals that enrich the pockets of the professional politician while spending our childrens' and grandchrildrens' future away. We need to unite and rid ourselves of these professionals. No better choice in the great state of Ohio for the leading law enforcement position, than Steve Christopher. Small town roots, blue collar parents, no large corporate interests, strong on the constitution as worded, and a great believer in American freedom. I grew up with this man in a rural setting, and can tell anyone that is interested, just how strong this man's convictions are, now the same as always. I have never heard this man flip flop on his beliefs. I have nothing to gain personally to back him, but Ohioans have plenty to gain by electing him. Some say we can't afford to run a third party, but this is not being presented as any third party. Steve is running on the Republican platform, but believes in the tea party doctorine. C'mon people, we need a different choice, and this is the one I choose.

We the People of Ohio need someone like Steve Christopher who is a conservative and a true constitutionalists . I helped collect signatures for his petition because I believe he will make a great Attorney General. It time we get rid of the RHINOS that are in the republican party.
