Couldn’t he had just have given us a pen set?

Think back to the election of President Obama. What do you see? Young faces of hope and excitement, signs declaring “Change” for America. Readiness for a new beginning for the nation and day one for many who were preparing to enter the real world through the exit doors of their colleges and universities. Obama was chosen as a leader for the youth. When he first entered office, the same collection of people have waited with bated breath to see what their leader was going to do first. They watched as he went on international trips, started a garden and held meetings with celebrities. Suddenly, they finally saw legislative movement.

The healthcare reform proposal, coined Obamacare, was his first real task for those young people who had put so much trust in him. However, with the lack of need for healthcare by this demographic, not to mention the $2.5 trillion dollar tab attached to this bill, their reaction has not been what Obama probably had expected.

Now, over 100 days later, all the youth have as a result of their vote is dead end and a money sign.

Despite using the objective that is healthcare less, the younger generation will be the ones in the end paying for it. With the estimated cost, it will be their shoulders holding the burden in the long run. While some legislators are calling the prospective passing of this legislation “historic”, the real historic event is the youth revolt occurring against Obama more and more every day. This President is literally refusing to listen to his real bosses: The American people.

Further, how much of a role model is Obama to our young Americans when he is seen backbiting and bickering with both Democrats and Republicans for what he wants. It seems there is nothing off limits when it comes to pushing his will through Congress and on to the law books. From selling judicial seats to now using reconciliation, this “we know best” administration is resorting to trickery and bribery for a political objective that will cost the nation they were charged to lead as well as threaten more futures than they could ever think of helping.

The result: not only a declining approval rating but also a declining level of support on an emotional level from not only the American people but Obama’s own people as well. Democratic legislators are, as Dick Morris stated “dropping like flies” and racing to evade the once Golden Boy that is Obama. In addition, the youth is turning to other avenues as well as such as the Republican party and the Tea Party among others. 2010’s election will show it more than any poll, but I think if Obama looks out the window to the young America, he would be very surprised what he sees looking back at him.
