Definition of Understatement: Democrats Have an “Uphill Climb” In November

While many predictions have occurred when it comes to the upcoming November elections, none has been so intriguing as a statement made by a member of the most watched political party recently: The Democrats. Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland recently stated the Democrats have an “Uphill Climb” when it comes to November. Although he continued to wonder out loud how “steep” the hill really would end up being, you have to wonder how much of an understatement this response really is.
After all, we are talking about the same party whose first real legislation as a majority had victims within 24 hours of its signing. Not to mention, this is the organization who had chance after chance of really doing what they promised and instead turned to assisting their former contributors while evading and invading their voters. Especially when these one-time supporters say something against them such as presenting what a decline in income a company will have as a result as their “reform” baby ObamaCare.
Lets be fair for a moment, ObamaCare was announced much earlier and we as a nation did not respond against it. Oh, wait; we filled the town halls during the recess just after the legislation passed its first deadline to be signed. Further, when it returned to the government’s agenda, we wrote letters and opinion articles as well as filled the phone lines of legislative offices against every bit of the so-called “Reform Act”. Somehow, many are starting to wonder why this prospective climb for Democrats didn’t happen sooner.
But wait, they do have a president who recently stated he will lift a moratorium to allow oil drilling off the eastern seaboard and potentially the western coast of Florida and hence decrease our need for overseas sources. In fact, he even attempted to adopt the famous “Drill baby drill” chant once used by Republicans. Although this presentation looks good on paper however, Obama’s chant should have been “Sue baby sue”. The next step of his lift will not only be court cases against the objective, but also just another which thing environmental groups can cry about.
It also must be said that this is also Obama’s first “Voted for it before I voted against it” moment. As many videos, speeches and media has shown, once upon a time he was against drilling in the same areas he is now allowing to be searched. Not only is this an attempt at a diversion from ObamaCare, its an outright smoke and mirrors show to attempt an appeasement to an angry American society.
So much action done by this president even before ObamaCare or the energy-related lift seems to be nowhere but in the archives when it needs to be in the forefront. We have already, through his actions, been warned of what kind of “leader” he really wanted to be to this nation. From the start, it seemed he liked being a celebrity more than a president. Within his first 100 days, he completely ignored every promise made to his nation of voters and went traveling and on late night TV. Now that he is actually acting as a President, we are even more at risk. While having dinner with Beyonce, Obama snubs allies during a time of war and ignores America’s needs while enjoying our fruits of labor.
Yes, Democrats have a uphill climb to bear. But, what about the climb that their actions will result in America having to overcome? Already we are seeing zero positive “change” with their elections and re-elections. America is falling down a hill and the Democratic majority was the ones who pushed us and are now enjoying the view while we fight to reach our own peak. This fall, America will be enjoying the view they should have seen all along.
