Lost and Found: Young Republican Enthusiasm

On March 11, 2010 at 12:51 pm

As published on The Daily Caller on 10 March 2010
A new poll of America’s 18-29 year-olds released yesterday by Harvard’s Institute of Politics gives the Republican Party serious hope for change in 2010.
The poll reveals a significant enthusiasm gap among young voters, with young Republicans expressing greater eagerness to vote in November’s midterm elections than [...]

Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner up to Her old Tricks Again

Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner up to Her old Tricks Again

Brunner is no stranger to the spotlight. Most of us remember her in the 2008 election taking quiet orders from the Democratic Party, and the Obama campaign. In that election she turned her eye away from massive voter fraud in Ohio by groups like ACORN who had registering thousands of illegitimate voters. It’s ironic that her office now seems to take the idea of validating signatures seriously.

The “Party of Lincoln” Attempts to Heal Old Wounds With a Record Number of Black GOP Candidates

The “Party of Lincoln” Attempts to Heal Old Wounds With a Record Number of Black GOP Candidates

The relationship between the Republican Party and the Black Community is…complicated. From the party’s founding to the re-election defeat of Republican President Herbert Hoover in 1932, African Americans who could vote did so 90 percent of the time for Republicans. Beginning with the 1936 Presidential election, African Americans began to join the Democratic Party in [...]

Who’s driving this party, anyway?

Who’s driving this party, anyway?

Cross-posted at The Daily Caller
It did not take long for the rhetoric about the death of the Republican Party and conservatism in the wilderness to dissipate after the 2008 elections. The GOP’s sweep of all three major elections since—in the purple to blue states of Virginia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, no less—shows voters moving back [...]

Harry Reid Egregiously Inaccurate of GOP’s History

Harry Reid Egregiously Inaccurate of GOP’s History

Senator Harry Reid’s ignorant and partisan comments yesterday likening Republican opposition of socialized health care to that of slavery is egregiously and historically incorrect.  The Democrat Senate Majority Leader should brush up on his American history as it was the Republicans – not the Democrats – who led the fight and ultimately ended slavery in [...]

The Republican’s Party Reconstitution

The Republican's Party Reconstitution

The critics in the mainstream media and the blogosphere once declared the GOP as D-E-A-D. They argued that the country has evolved from one of Conservative simpletons to progressive intellectuals. The 2008 election of Barack Obama marked the “End of the Reagan Era” in America.
They were wrong…but not necessarily for the reasons you would [...]

Why Palin is “Going Rogue”

Why Palin is “Going Rogue”

Sarah Palin’s new book, “Going Rogue,” gets its title from an expression McCain staffers made about Palin during last year’s presidential campaign, referring to her unscripted interviews with the media. The book is both about her time on the campaign and an autobiography. It provides a revealing look at the real Palin, off the cuff [...]

The Odd Couple

The Odd Couple

Can an uber Democrat strategist, and an equally solid Conservative Republican strategist find marital bliss?
James Carville managed Clinton’s campaign. Mary Matalin was George Bush’s and Dick Cheney’s advisor. Their political ideals differ radically. Some would say this is hardly a match made in heaven. But they would disagree.
Eyebrows on both sides were raised when the [...]

Tuesday Election Recap

On November 4, 2009 at 12:12 pm

Election night 2009 once again proves correct that consummate political truth: nothing changes everything.  One year ago, it seemed as though the sky has forever fall on Republicans, having suffered crushing defeats in the presidential election and in both houses of Congress.  The pain was only magnified when months later Republicans also lost a special [...]

Does the GOP Need a Hip Replacement?

Does the GOP Need a Hip Replacement?

There’s a lot of talk these days about what the GOP can do to appeal to young voters. In the wake of Barack Obama’s 2-to-1 victory among voters under-30, the diagnosis seems to be that the Republican Party just isn’t “cool.” How can the GOP get our hip replacement? Everybody has their own answer… tweet [...]

R.I.P. Teddy

R.I.P. Teddy

Well the past two days just show how far the class level has fallen in America. As many of you already know, Senator Ted Kennedy died last night. As usual, the nuts have come out on both sides of the political cyberspace to spew ridiculousness.
Memo to the left; Teddy was not a saint. He could not [...]
