Today’s question is: What would she expect to gain disclosing the foul voicemails to authorities? Apparently, some of Gibbsy’s craziness is rubbing off on his lawyers: as TMZ reported earlier, they’re going to run the whole nine yards of attacks on his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.

The 39-year old opera singer is being accused of everything but the kitchen sink: whether it’s attempting to extort Gibson of $$$, lying her ass off, or being in contempt of court. She could soon be the target of a criminal investigation, as well. But not to be out done, she’s come back with tales of Mel putting their kids in harm’s way and threatening her with a gun.

Things may only get worse in the coming days, but if Mel’s going to be slapped with anything by Los Angeles law – he should be investigated for his role as criminal accomplice in the pile of garbage that was Signs.

With TMZ growing by the second and “trash magazines” such as the National Enquirer seeing no downfall from the supposed death of the print publication, it’s eminent that we love to gasp at the woes of society.

The only problem with this is it hasn’t evolved. Controversy’s attention should result because it’s a good story, but also because it involves something regarding our current events. For instance, with the economy still not completely repaired it is financial situations such as events involving giving money to the wrong people that should get the most bangs for the buck when it comes to shock. A great example is a report made not to recently declaring 1,300 prison inmates cashing in on certain housing credit, taking over $9 million from the Government illegally. If that wasn’t bad enough, according to a report made by Treasury Department Inspector General J. Russell George, 14,100 tax filers wrongly received at least $26.7 million in tax credits meant to boost the nation’s slumping housing markets. While there was shock and awe, not only was there reduced coverage but also no aftermath reporting.

While scandals and controversy of a much sexier agenda such as the John Edwards situation, which is seeing a revival with Mrs. Edward’s upcoming Larry King interview tonight, ones that aren’t as sexy but cost us even more in aspects such as monetary means seem to fall by the wayside with no response. Despite the fact that we need all the dimes we can get as a nation in order to see daylight, nobody is questioning the aftermath of this horrid situation.

Is it the media taking care of their liberal majority again? That can be seen possibly as a part of it but even more, I believe it is the lack of call from the public to hear the whole story from beginning to end. One thing that you learn as a reporter is even with the last paragraph, the story doesn’t end in real life. While may reports say the Internal Revenue Service is taking steps to get the money back and stated that more than 2.6 million taxpayers claimed the tax credit through April, why isn’t there aftermath reporting on how that is going or at the very least some puff pieces on the people who should be getting the money?

If we want to start cutting costs as a nation, we need to begin getting involved in the not so appealing but quite a bit more important aspects. More and more we are seeing citizen reporting growing and at times the stories are worthwhile and very close to award winning, but the reality should be to go after the stories the professionals don’t and ask them why they, as reporters, haven’t fully done their jobs for our nation.

“Good Morning America” came under fire last Friday for distinguishing a 17-year old pop star with a one-hit wonder dad from a 28-year old hateful and pathetic Gackt wanna-be that thrives on offending people. While we have very thick skins, we’ll have to throw our two cents in on this one.

In one of their blurbs, TMZ posited that Miley Cyrus’ lesbian kiss on the set of “Britain’s Got Talent” – the same reality show that spawned Susan Boyle – was on even keel with Lambert’s act at the American Music Awards last year. Also, they implied that there was some sort of hypocrisy on the part of GMA.

But we’re going to give them a reality check, because we’re good for that.

Despite the fact that men love seeing two women kissing, we don’t love seeing two men doing likewise. There is a hell of a huge difference between the two situations, besides the fact that we have a Hank Hill moment and change the channel every time gratuitous physical contact is splashed all over our TV screens. It amounts to nothing more, and nothing less, than the intent with which they were carried out.

For Miley’s part, even though she has made no shortage of attempts to turn into the next Material Girl, her kiss was simulated. She didn’t, as near as we can tell, lead anyone on a choke collar or use her lower body in ways that would get a photographer in trouble. But Adam’s wasn’t, and he did. The former Idol runner-up deliberately flipped off the AMA viewing audience with gestures that oozed spite and rage. His was a trick to see what kind of reaction he’d get, and a thumb in our eyes.

All day long we hear, from self-righteous psychoanalysts in training, that the intent of an act matters. It’s why blacks can get away with being racist and whites can’t even cut in front of line without being compared to Bull Connor. Why, then, are we not hearing it now?

Isn’t it about time for a William Hung comeback? I mean seriously, if “The Situation” can put out a fist-pumping single, imaginatively titled “The Situation” – why not? The Situation, of course, is Mike Sorrentino, the “Jersey Shore” star whose sole talent, prior to auto-tuning his way into music history, has been constantly flashing his abs.

Sorrentino paired up with Fatman Scoop, DJ Class and the Disco Fries to create this “Jersey Shore” musical breakthrough. TMZ has posted a clip of this summertime classic.

After the witty introduction lyric – “We got a situation here” – the rest of the song (am I really calling it a “song”?) seems to be a lot of “Whoa, Whoa, Situation,” repeated over a background of what sounds like air-raid sirens and a migraine-inducing techno beat. Ad nauseum.

Eventually, we get to the soul of the musical composition, and the lyric really grabs ahold of the listener’s heart and mind:
“The motherf’in Situation
What the hell are you lookin’ at?
Can a DJ get in like that
Grab some [expletive], drink some ‘yac
I ain’t doin’ [expletive] ’til I get my cash
Where the ladies at?
I ain’t at a bar to get drunk alone
I’m gonna take a hottie home.

I look forward to the video. Especially if Pauly D. is in charge of the hair design for the shoot.

The lyric may be lame, but much like “Jersey Shore” – you’re probably not supposed to think about it all too much. Clearly “The Sitch” is only trying to make the crowd get up and dance. So will you be buying and downloading “The Situation?” Or will you just wait for Snooki’s inevitable single? You know that if “The Situation” sells, there’s more on the way. Only you, the potential listener, can make it stop.

Sources tell TMZ Lindsay’s right-hand woman, Elinore, quit Wednesday. Elinore only lasted a few months and we’re told she was “exhausted” and “had enough of Lindsay’s demands.”

We’re also told Elinore never had any time to herself and Lindsay would often force her to stay with her for days on end … and then blame her when things went wrong.

2. A criminal defense attorney is predicting jail time for dear ol’ Lindsay

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lohan to wear an alcohol-monitoring SCRAM device. The device registered the presence of alcohol on Sunday evening, prompting Revel to issue another bench warrant for her arrest due to a violation of her probation.

The warrant was revoked on Tuesday when her bondsman paid $20,000 of her $200,000 bail (the standard 10 percent). But just because the 23-year-old avoided a stint in the slammer this time, one expert says there’s a good chance she’ll do hard time for setting off her SCRAM.

“I will be very surprised if she doesn’t go to jail,” Santa Monica criminal defense attorney Steve Cron, who does not work with Ms. Lohan, told Pop Tarts. “I have known Judge Revel for a long time, and she isn’t one to let people get away with wrong doings. It seems Lindsay doesn’t care much about anything and has no perception of the real world. The judge just isn’t going to accept that.”

Cron said the maximum penalty Lohan faces is six months imprisonment, and while it is rare anyone is actually sentenced to that length of time, he says it is “almost a certainty” that the actress will have to serve at least some time in jail if she violated probation.

Lohan is set to appear in court on July 6.

Folks, do NOT become this piece of white trash we call Lindsay Lohan.

It has been reported by TMZ that Anne Carradine, the wife of deceased “Kill Bill”/“Kung Fu” star David Carradine, is suing French movie-making company MK2 Productions for an as-yet undisclosed amount in a wrongful death suit. She claims that the company failed to live up to its contractual obligations with regard to the four-time Golden Globe nominee.

What exactly those were, is another question.

Before Dave faded to black, he was supposed to have dinner with the director of the movie he was shooting that year, some guy named Charles Gillibert. But, he was blown off and told to look for his own food after the bootlicker in charge of picking David up for the night’s proceedings left without him.

And I guess when you’re instructed to look after yourself . . . well . . . that’s exactly what you do.

I can only assume that the angle here is that were it not for crossed wires and a botched dinner reservation, the man once known as Kwai Chang Caine would be gracing European movie screens with his full and uncut presence.

By that I mean, not one shortened like Aaliyah’s stint on 2002 vamp flick “Queen of the Damned.”

But, as it is with all of us, David Carradine was responsible for his own life. He was employed by a reputable movie company, so I’d be willing to bet my first born child on that the “welfare clause” – assuming such a one existed in Big D’s contract – wasn’t apt to extend to making sure he didn’t do it wrong.

Then again, it IS the French we’re talking about here. You never know with those people. To my eye, untrained in the ways of frivolous legal kung-fu (but master in common sense), the fault doesn’t lie with MK2/MS2 S.A. in any way, shape or form.

This is because, were the D-man left alone in his hotel room, he could easily have sought . . . room service.

Sadly, it was the easier to sympathize with(and look at) Mr. Corey Haim. Not that we wish anything on Mr. Feldman, but let’s face it, after repeated reality show appearance by the latter which focused primarily around his extensive drug use, we’ve pretty much given up hope.

Haim coined a fresh faced vulnerability that combatted the status quo of the 80s heartthrob and won over even the greatest bull-dikes of the mullet rocking generation. It’s no surprise that his demise came at the hands of narcotics, however, it is a twist of fate that it wasn’t cocaine or illicit drugs of any kind. Hopefully this new Hollywood trend of celebrities catching the flu and dying on prescription meds won’t last long. Or if it does, at least it could be a tad more selective and leave our favorite poster children alone.
